TRR 318 will be represented at the 2025 World Conference on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) in Istanbul from July 9 to 11. The conference brings together international experts every year to discuss the latest developments in XAI. This year, researchers from projects A03 and C02 will present their current work.
Olesja Lammert from project A03 gives insights into her study “Can AI Regulate Your Emotions? An Empirical Investigation of the Influence of AI Explanations and Emotion Regulation on Human Decision-Making Factors”. She investigated how AI explanations and targeted emotion regulation affect users' decision-making behavior and trust. “The results show that a targeted impulse for self-regulation can increase openness to AI recommendations and thus promote their acceptance,” explains Olesja Lammert.
Stefan Heid presents the study “MSL: Multi-class Scoring Lists for Interpretable Incremental Decision-Making” from the C02 project. In his presentation, he introduces a new method for classifying data. “This scoring list is more comprehensible than black box methods while enabling step-by-step decision-making,” says lead author Stefan Heid. Heid also presented a new data set that could be useful for user studies.
