Bringing Science to Life at “Science-Seeing Tours” Workshop of Ideas

Researchers from TRR 318 took part in “Science-Seeing Tours” a workshop of ideas organized by the City of Bielefeld’s Office of Science. The goal of this workshop is to bring scientific findings to life with digital and in-person tours of the city organized around different research topics.

At the workshop of ideas on June 9th, three researchers from TRR 318 were in attendance: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Britta Wrede (subprojects A03, A05, Ö) on the topic of artificial intelligence, as well as Dr.-Ing. Anna-Lisa Vollmer (subproject B05) and Dr.-Ing. Birte Richter (subprojects A03 and A05) on the topic of robots in healthcare. The researchers exchanged ideas with members of the public about the respective topic areas and discussed ideas for how AI and healthcare robots can be incorporated into such Science-Seeing tours.

The ideas discussed during these workshops will later be evaluated and incorporated into stops for these city tours, which will also be made available to the public.
