Pupils Posing Questions on Digital Technologies

What is it like to work as a researcher? How can I myself become a researcher? What is AI all about? In the coming weeks, pupils will be able to ask questions like these and more to researchers at the online event “I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here!” Pupils will be able to pose their questions directly to individual researchers via live chats and a question forum on the project website. Four rounds with different topics on digital technologies will be held through the end of the year. The first round, from November 14th-25th, will delve into the topic of artificial intelligence, and Professor Dr.-Ing. Britta Wrede, who heads TRR 318 subprojects A03, A05 and Ö, will field pupils’ questions. The next round from November 21st-25th will address robotics and Assistant Professor Dr.-Ing. Hendrik Buschmeier, who heads TRR 318 subproject A02, will be standing by to answer questions on speech-based interaction with robots. Subsequent rounds will focus on the topics of “social media” and “city of the future.”

“I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here!” is an online project from “wissenschaft: im dialog,” a science communication organization. Since 2020, eight rounds of these online Q&A sessions have been held, garnering participation from 4,500 pupils and 250 researchers. Link to the project
