First Retreat of All Researchers of TRR 318

From 30th to 31st March, the Transregio will focus on synthesis during the first retreat of TRR 318. About 70 researchers will gather in Hamm to collaborate on the topics of the research network.

The Wednesday evening before the retreat is reserved for meetings within the subprojects. On Thursday morning, joint synthesis work will commence. In the "Idea Working Groups," researchers will split into nine teams to discuss topics relevant to transregional research. Ranging from the development of co-constructive systems to questions of artificial intelligence in the context of gender, class, and culture and the influence of new technologies like ChatGPT, a wide array of ideas will be represented.

In the afternoon, two colloquia on 'Explainability' will be held. Subprojects A04, "Integrating the technical model into the partner model in explanations of digital artifacts," and C03, "Interpretable machine learning: Explaining change," will present their ongoing project work. Friday morning will again be dedicated to the "Idea Working Groups." A summary discussion of the TRR synthesis, the colloquium of project B05, "Co-constructing explainability with an interactively learning robot," and the final discussion of the TRR working groups will form the concluding part of the retreat.

Annedore Wilmes (Project C04) and Maximilian Muschalik (Project C03) will provide live updates from the TRR 318 Twitter account (@trr_318) about the activities and discussions in Hamm during the retreat.
