The recording of the latest CRC-Public Talk "Digital divide in studies caused by AI?" by Professor Dr Isabel Steinhardt (Paderborn University) is now available on our YouTube channel. Available in german with english subtitles.
In her talk, Steinhardt sheds light on the diverse uses of AI tools such as ChatGPT for students, from brainstorming to writing and research. A central theme of the talk was that the use of these tools could be strongly influenced by social factors, leading to significant differences in usage, acceptance and competence. This phenomenon is analysed using the concept of the digital divide. The data presented is based on a specially developed questionnaire and is supplemented by a comprehensive literature study.
