On June 1, Prof. Dr. Ingrid Scharlau was invited as a keynote speaker at the welcome workshop of the newly established DFG Research Training Group METEOR in Munich. In her workshop on academic writing in interdisciplinary teams, she encouraged participants to reflect in a structured way on their personal and disciplinary writing strategies.

The METEOR Research Training Group aims to foster closer connections between the fields of machine learning and control theory. Although the two disciplines share many research interests, they have developed distinct technical languages and research cultures. Interdisciplinary communication therefore plays a central role in the training of doctoral researchers.

Through her keynote and workshop, Ingrid Scharlau introduced early-career researchers to key dimensions of interdisciplinarity and provided foundations for effective collaboration in interdisciplinary research teams. In doing so, she made an important contribution to the successful launch of the new Research Training Group.
