Workshop led by Ingrid Scharlau, Ricarda Kurock & Michael Lenke
06.05.2026, 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. in ZM2.A.02.73 (Zukunftsmeile 2) or via Zoom (Link found in KOMO)
In this workshop, participants will learn how to effectively read and understand a research proposal in order to translate it into a clear and structured overview for their individual work. The session focuses on understanding the key elements of a proposal—such as objectives, work packages, milestones, collaboration, and expected outcomes, identifying how they relate to each other within the overall project plan and how you can work on them in a motivating manner.
Please read the proposal of the subproject you work in carefully in advance. During the workshop, we will explore strategies for extracting the most relevant information and organizing it in a way that makes the project ideas accessible and motivating.
Based on this understanding, each participant will create an individual representation of (at least) the first year of their project, for example as a mind map, timeline, workflow, or another format of their choice. Michael Lenke, TRR members since the first funding phase, will introduce the idea of mind-mapping the proposal. The goal is to transform the written proposal into a format that supports orientation, planning, and communication within the project.
To strengthen the RTG network, the workshop is planned as an in-person event. Therefore, we kindly request that you come to Paderborn if possible. However, we would like to give everyone the opportunity to participate and are therefore offering a hybrid format.
Please register in KOMO for the workshop.
