B07 Paper Presented at ACL 2026

Project B07 achieved success at ACL 2026: Yu Wang, a former member of the A02 and B07 projects, presented B07’s paper at the conference.

The paper, titled "Identifying the Periodicity of Information in Natural Language," is based on the hypothesis that information conveyed by text follows periodic patterns, and that human-written text differs from model-generated text in terms of periodicity. The study first develops a periodicity detection method and subsequently finds that human-written and machine-generated texts differ significantly in their periodicity. This study supports the B07 project due to its potential for detecting LLM-involved conversations.

Yu Wang submitted his PhD dissertation in June and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University, working on an ERC project about memory retrieval in language processing.
